Finnish Network for Toxicological Expertise
The Finnish Network for Toxicological Expertise is a national collaborative body coordinated by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. Its aim is to strengthen expertise in advanced risk assessment in Finland by supporting networking, training, and work-based learning among toxicologists.
Summary
The Finnish Network for Toxicological Expertise is a cross-institutional community that supports education, expertise, research, and communication in the field of toxicology in Finland.
Objectives
The objective of The Finnish Network for Toxicological Expertise is to enhance expertise in advanced risk assessment in Finland, develop preparedness and readiness for toxicological risks, support research and expert work, and increase the visibility and internal communication of the field.
Implementation
The Finnish Network for Toxicological Expertise develops toxicological expertise by supporting work-based learning, developing the content of basic and continuing education, and participating in projects utilizing new approaches.
The network acts as a national coordinator in special situations requiring toxicological expertise and develops the activities of the Competence center for chemical threats in the aftercare of hazardous situations.
The network supports research and expert work by prioritising research topics, identifying funding sources, bringing together experts in the field, and increasing the national and international visibility of toxicology.
How to join the network
Experts working in or interested in toxicology can join the network regardless of their organizational background. Membership provides an opportunity for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development within a community of experts.
